ABOUT

US

Our first year of marriage we purchased our first boxer, and last year we celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary, so you might say we’ve had a “love affair” going with boxers from Day One of our marriage

We have had several boxers for pets so when Joe retired, he wanted to breed boxers.  We tossed the idea around for awhile until fate took over.  When Gracie (our pet boxer) gave birth to her last litter, only 2 brindle female puppies survived.  Since Gracie was unable to set the table for her babies, Nancy fed them through an eyedropper, then a syringe and then a baby bottle.

We had decided to keep one female to start our boxer business and sell the other puppy, but when it came time to sell her, Nancy had so fallen in love with both puppies that she wanted to keep both of them.  Joe heartily agreed. So what to name them?

We had a contest among our 10 grandchildren for names for the puppies.  Our oldest granddaughter, Misti, came up with Laverne and Shirley, and we thought it was so cute, we proclaimed Misti as the winner.

Then when Laverne and Shirley had their first litters at the same time, we decided to keep two more females to increase our business.  We settled on Lucy and Ethel for names this time.

On Jan. 20, 2005, Lucy gave birth to her first litter.  About that time we decided to purchase another male and bought a beautiful flashy reverse brindle.  Since Lucy had given birth on the Presidential Inauguration Day, we decided to keep a female, whom we named Laura. So naturally, we had to name our new male puppy George W. They produced 4 adorable puppies, hence, we determined we had the First Family of Puppies.

We've bred boxers for 10 years and are presently having about 10-12 litters per year. They have loving temperaments and are excellent with children.
